A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) regarding a vocational training and student exchange program in South Korea is scheduled to be signed today. Sri Lankan Deputy Minister of Labour Mahinda Jayasinghe traveled to South Korea for the ceremony. Under the agreement between Sri Lanka's Ministry of Labour and NIOSH, alongside South Korean entities including Changshin University and Gyeongsangnam-do Province, selected Sri Lankan students can study at Changshin University and secure jobs and long-term residency in Gyeongsangnam-do Province.
A Bahamas-bound Learjet crashed in Palm Beach County, Florida, killing all nine people on board after the pilot reported severe icing, turbulence, and overspeed, leading to an emergency descent. The crash, the second deadliest US aviation disaster this year, created a large debris field near Cresthaven, about nine miles from Mar‑a‑Lago, and displaced around 600 residents due to blocked access to a mobile home park.
