Member of Parliament Chamara Sampath Dassanayake has been remanded after being arrested by the Bribery Commission for allegedly soliciting Rs. 8.1 million and Rs. 2.4 million bribes from companies, with special security provided during detention at Colombo Remand Prison.
COLOMBO (News 1st); Parliamentarian Chamara Sampath Dassanayake has been remanded until October 23 after being arrested by the Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery or Corruption (CIABOC) and produced before the Colombo Chief Magistrate's Court on Monday. The remand order was issued after the MP was taken into custody by Bribery Commission officials earlier in the day.
Parliamentarian Chamara Sampath Dasanayake, who was arrested in connection with five cases involving allegations of bribery, was today ordered to be remanded until October 23 by Colombo Chief Magistrate Asanga S. Bodaragama. ..
