Parliament today approved Supplementary Estimate No. 05 of 2026, under the Ministry of Energy, providing Rs. 17,213 million in financial assistance to offer relief to the public on electricity bills.
A supplementary estimate of Rs. 17.213 billion for public electricity bill relief is set to be presented to Sri Lanka’s Parliament for approval, with funds to come from the Ministry of Energy.
A supplementary estimate of Rs. 17.2 billion for electricity relief is scheduled for presentation to Parliament today to reduce public electricity bills. The measure is expected to be approved in Parliament tomorrow, while other legislative items including the Export Agriculture Promotion (Amendment) Bill and the Institute of Chartered Media Practitioners of Sri Lanka Bill will not be debated.
විදුලි බිල්පත් සම්බන්ධයෙන් මහජනයාට සහන ලබාදීමට රුපියල් කෝටි 17,21 කට වැඩි මූල්යමය සහනාධාරයක් සැපයීම සඳහාවූ පරිපූරක ඇස්තමේන්තුව (23) අනුමත කිරීමට නියමිතය.
