Narco Seeds Enter Sri Lanka Through Courier Parcels
Sri Lanka Customs has launched special monitoring efforts following the detection of drug traffickers importing hashish marijuana seeds via courier parcels for potential local cultivation. Senior Director of Customs Chandana Punchihewa stated that recent seizures totaling nearly four kilograms involved new smuggling routes from Madagascar, the United Kingdom, and Italy. To combat these evolving methods, Sri Lanka Customs is moving to introduce advanced body-scanning technology at ports of entry.
