Parliamentarian Namal Rajapaksa, who was arrested by the Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery or Corruption over allegations of accepting a Rs. 100 million bribe in connection with a transaction involving the purchase of Airbus aircraft, has been ordered to be further remanded until September 29 by Colombo Chief Magistrate Asanga S. Bodaragama today.

Namal Rajapaksa, Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna (SLPP) MP, has been further remanded until September 29 by the Colombo Chief Magistrate’s Court in connection with a Rs. 100 million bribe case linked to the Airbus scandal. He was arrested by the Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery or Corruption (CIABOC) on September 4. Separately, he was also ordered remanded until September 23 in a related money laundering case filed by the CID.
