Anne de Livera, mother-in-law of her son Rohitha Rajapaksa, accompanied her on the trip.
A Rajapaksa family member denied media reports claiming that Shiranthi Rajapaksa, wife of former President Mahinda Rajapaksa, fled the country during an FCID summons, stating the reports were false. According to the family member, Shiranthi came from a private hospital to the airport on Sunday and was handed a relevant document by an airport official, with no prior FCID summons having been issued to her.
