Inmate Transfers to Bogambara Prison Begin

The transfer of inmates to Bogambara Prison has begun, with 100 already moved and about 1,000 more from Colombo and Magazine remand prisons to be relocated temporarily. Prisons spokesman Chenaka Palletanne reported there are currently around 25,000 remand suspects islandwide and about 36,000 inmates in total across Sri Lanka.
