Colombo Fort Magistrate's Court ordered MP Namal Rajapaksa to remain in remand custody until September 23 in a money laundering case linked to the Airbus scandal. Deputy Solicitor General Janaka Bandara stated in court that businessman Nimal Perera submitted affidavits alleging Rajapaksa received US$800,000 in bribes. The prosecution presented evidence of financial transfers involving Biz Solutions Inc., Saber Vision Holdings, and emails between Rajapaksa and Airbus officials, while strongly objecting to bail. Defence counsel Anil Silva's plea for bail was deferred until September 23.
